CHAPTER A

Understanding Services, Subscriptions and Routes

First separate the account, plan, subscription, client and route. Everything that follows becomes more straightforward.

What VPNJN Provides

VPNJN provides cross-border network acceleration. What you receive after purchase is not a public download address, but a subscription linked to your account plan. The subscription is delivered through the user panel; only after a client reads it will the available routes appear. Coverage currently includes 120+ countries / 160+ routes, with support for Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux and unlimited simultaneous devices. Different devices can use the same active subscription under one account, but each should obtain the client and import entry from the user panel rather than copying it into software from an unknown source.

The account stores orders and subscription status; the plan determines available data and validity; the subscription turns account permissions into a route list the client can read; the client handles connections, rule matching and route switching; and the route determines the actual exit region and link type. These objects are related but not interchangeable. A client showing “Imported” only means the configuration was written locally; it does not prove that the plan is active. A visible route name does not prove that traffic is currently using it, and a webpage loading normally does not by itself prove that every application follows the same rules.

The complete process should therefore follow a fixed order: confirm your use case, choose a plan, create the account and complete the order, retrieve the subscription from the panel, import it into a supported platform client, choose a route and connect, then verify the result through the exit IP, target service and application behavior. Skipping any step can produce a setup that appears complete but does not work as expected. The chapters below follow this sequence and cover common edge cases at each stage.

Monthly Subscriptions and Data Packs Support Different Usage Patterns

Monthly subscriptions provide data that resets each month on the activation date. The three options are ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB and ¥28/month with 500GB. The reset date follows the activation date rather than a shared calendar-month boundary. Data packs provide a fixed one-time allowance that lasts until used and never expires. The three options are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB and ¥658/3000GB. Monthly plans suit ongoing use; data packs suit irregular usage where unused data should remain available.

Route coverage and platform support are service capabilities, while data allowances are usage quotas. Choosing a higher data tier does not mean every region should use the same route, and choosing a data pack does not change the client import process. Your actual experience still depends on location, target service, route type, local network conditions and rule mode. When a connection fails, first determine whether the issue concerns the account, subscription refresh, client permissions, route selection or target application instead of deleting every configuration and starting over.

Bank-Grade Encryption and Usage Boundaries

Once connected, the client handles encrypted traffic between your device and the selected route. The service uses bank-grade encryption. Encryption protects the transport path; it does not replace the target website’s account security or automatically resolve browser-extension conflicts, system proxy conflicts or an application’s separate network settings. Use unique passwords for important accounts, review unusual-login alerts promptly and keep the operating system and client in working order.

Choose a Plan Based on Your Data Usage

Choose a plan by looking at long-term usage first, then the data patterns of your main applications.

Decide Between Ongoing and Occasional Use

The key question when choosing a plan is not which answer works for everyone, but whether your usage is continuous. Daily work, AI tools, research, video meetings and ongoing sync usually create steady monthly demand, making a monthly subscription a good fit. Short trips, project-based work or an irregular backup connection may suit a data pack better. Data packs last until used and never expire, while unused data does not reset with the month. Understanding Activation-Date Resets and Mid-Cycle Upgrades

Monthly subscription data resets each month on the activation date. This is the time reference when the account plan became active, so the start of the month is not a universal reset point. When checking remaining data, review the plan status and current cycle together rather than remembering only the order month. If the allowance becomes insufficient, you can upgrade during the cycle; the price difference is prorated into the remaining days. Before upgrading, confirm the current plan, remaining status and target plan in the panel so that adding a one-time data pack is not confused with changing the monthly tier.

An upgrade is appropriate when ongoing demand has increased, for example because your workflow now includes more cloud sync, video assets or multiple system environments. If a single task temporarily uses a lot of data, first consider whether a data pack is a better fit. The two options operate on different time scales: an upgrade changes the ongoing tier, while a data pack provides a fixed total allowance. Do not upgrade based on a single period of network instability. Slow connections should first be addressed by changing routes, checking the local network and reviewing rule mode; plan or data-pack changes are for insufficient data.

Unlimited Devices Does Not Mean Every Device Should Stay Connected

VPNJN supports unlimited simultaneous devices, which is useful for sharing one account across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux. For day-to-day management, however, keep connections active only on devices that need them. Background updates, photo sync, cloud drives and system downloads can continue consuming data when nobody is using the device. If several devices share a monthly subscription, schedule high-data tasks deliberately and check remaining data in the user panel. This helps distinguish normal growth from an unusual background task on one device.

Rule mode should also inform your plan choice. Rule mode sends only matching requests through the route and is usually easier to control for data usage. Global mode applies the current connection to more applications, which is useful for troubleshooting or when a uniform exit is explicitly required, but it should not stay enabled long term when application behavior is unclear. Create an Account and Complete Your Order

The account is the shared entry point for orders, subscriptions and client delivery.

Create an Account You Can Keep Secure

Enter the user panel through a button on this site, then choose the account-creation entry. VPNJN does not require an email address; a username and password are enough. Choose a username you can recognize without reusing a public nickname from another important service. Keep the password unique and store it in a controlled password manager. Because the account later carries orders, subscriptions and client access, do not rely on temporary browser memory or save login details in public documents, chat logs or shared screenshots.

Before submitting the account details, check that the username has no accidental leading or trailing spaces and that the password is entered as intended. If you paste the password, make sure no line break comes with it. After the account is created, open the user panel and confirm that an account overview appears before entering the plans area. Do not submit account or order requests repeatedly across several browser tabs. If the page responds slowly, wait for the current result and then refresh the account overview. Repeated clicks make it difficult to tell which action took effect.

Open the Panel from the Plans Page and Review the Order

Compare monthly subscriptions and data packs on the Plans and Pricing page, then use “Start Free” to enter the panel. You can also choose directly from the plans area in the user panel. Payment methods are Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. After choosing a payment method, follow the order flow shown in the panel. Once payment is complete, return to the account overview or order area to confirm the status. Do not treat a payment-tool result alone as proof that the subscription is active. Order completion and plan activation are prerequisites for subscription delivery in the panel. If the order is still processing, keep the current page information and check again later instead of immediately creating an identical new order.

Order Review Checklist

After the order shows as complete, check the plan name, data allowance, active status and subscription entry in that order. Monthly subscribers should also remember that data resets on the activation date, not on the calendar month. For a data pack, confirm that the page shows a fixed total allowance and that it lasts until used and never expires. Do not rush to import it on every device at once. Start with one familiar device and complete the first setup and verification there to reduce confusion if multiple devices fail simultaneously.

If you previously used another plan or an older subscription, distinguish between the order status being updated and the client’s local configuration being updated. A change in the user panel does not guarantee that every client refreshes immediately. After checking the order, open the subscription area, copy or invoke the new import entry, and then update the client. An old configuration may still display route names without reflecting the current plan. The most reliable approach is to check each layer from the account status through to the client.

Refunds and Operation Records

VPNJN provides a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. If you need to request one, stop placing duplicate orders or switching plans repeatedly. Keep the order status, payment result and problem description, then submit the request through the ticket entry in the user panel. State the platform, plan type, whether the client imported successfully, where the connection failed and which checks you have already tried. Clear context makes it easier to locate differences at the account, subscription or client layer than a message that only says “it does not work.”

After completing account operations, keep a personal record that contains no password or subscription content. Record only the plan type, activation date, main devices and commonly used route regions. The purpose is to track reset cycles and configuration changes, not to preserve sensitive data. The subscription URL is account-delivery content and should not be placed in public notes or sent to uncontrolled third-party tools. The next chapter explains how to retrieve the subscription from the panel and hand it to the client safely.

CHAPTER D

Get, Import and Update Your Route Subscription

The subscription is the configuration-delivery layer between the user panel and the client.

Retrieve the Subscription from the User Panel

Sign in to the user panel, confirm that the plan is active, then open the subscription or client area. The panel provides a retrieval method suited to the current device. Prefer the client entry or one-click import supplied on the page. Only copy the subscription content when the client explicitly asks you to paste a subscription address. A subscription address contains account-linked information and should be treated as private data. Do not place it in public screenshots, browser-synced notes, code repositories, public spreadsheets or third-party online conversion tools.

After copying it, switch directly to the target client and complete the import rather than leaving the content in the system clipboard. If the device keeps clipboard history, clear the relevant entry after importing. Give the configuration an easy-to-recognize name, such as the VPNJN brand plus its purpose. There is no need to put the plan price, username or full address in the name. The client name is only for local identification and does not affect the account plan or route content.

Subscription Addresses vs. Individual Routes

A subscription address retrieves a set of route configurations maintained by the service; an individual route is only one connectable item from that set. Copying one route cannot replace subscription updates because regional changes, route maintenance and protocol changes are synchronized through the subscription. The normal approach is to keep the subscription as the configuration source and choose a specific route in the client. If you save only one route manually, the local configuration may remain outdated even after the route list in the panel changes.

After importing the subscription, run one subscription update and check whether the route list appears. If the client reports an unrecognized format, first confirm that you copied the subscription entry rather than the panel page address, order address or explanatory text. Also verify that the client came through the user panel and matches the current platform. Do not submit the subscription to an unknown conversion page to fix a format error. Format problems are usually resolved with the correct client, import type or a fresh copy.

The snippet above only illustrates the relationship between configuration fields. Its address is an explicit example value and cannot be used for a real connection. The actual subscription must come from the user panel. When documenting it manually, do not put the real address in scripts, repositories or automation examples. If you need to test configuration parsing locally, continue using the example domain and a fictional token, then import the real subscription through the client interface after the process is confirmed.

Update the Subscription Instead of Recreating It

After the first successful import, route changes are normally handled with “Update Subscription.” If a VPNJN configuration already exists in the client, update it instead of creating another project with the same name each time. Repeated imports create multiple similar route groups, making it difficult to identify the active one and potentially causing rules to reference an old configuration. After updating, check the configuration timestamp, route list and current selection. If the client still shows old content, then consider deleting the old configuration and importing again.

Before reimporting, note the current rule mode and commonly used route region so you can restore them after deletion. If you delete the only usable configuration, the client will temporarily lose its route list; that is expected. Invoke the import entry again from the user panel, then restore the rule mode and choose a route. Do not keep multiple copies of the same source under different names as a “backup.” A real backup is the ability to sign in to the panel and retrieve the current subscription, not a collection of old copies.

Layered Checks When Subscription Updates Fail

When an update fails, first confirm that the device can reach the user panel. Then confirm that the account plan is active. Next check whether the client is allowed to connect, the system time is correct and the current network restricts the client. Only then copy the subscription again. If the panel is reachable but the client update fails, temporarily disconnect the client and try again so the old proxy path does not affect the subscription request. If the update works on another network, the issue is more likely local network conditions than subscription content.

If the route list appears but connections fail, subscription parsing has probably completed. Focus on the route and client permissions rather than repeatedly importing. If every route disappears, check whether the wrong configuration group is selected, the current configuration is disabled or the subscription was imported as ordinary text configuration. CHAPTER E

Import Clients Across Five Platforms

The same subscription can have different permission prompts and verification methods across operating systems.

The Shared Workflow

Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux have different interfaces, but the import logic is the same: obtain the client for the corresponding platform from the user panel, install or open it, import the subscription, update the route list, choose a rule mode and target route, allow the system to establish the network connection, and verify the exit. All clients and subscription entries should come from the user panel; this site does not provide static direct links to installation packages. Before opening the panel’s download area, confirm the signed-in account and plan status.

For the first setup, complete the entire loop on one device. Once the subscription, route, rules and target application work correctly, repeat the process on other platforms. The successful device becomes a useful comparison: if another device fails on the same network, check system permissions and client settings; if every device fails on one network but works after changing networks, check the local network; if only one route fails, switch to another route in the same region instead of reinstalling the client.

Windows: Handle System Proxy Interactions First

On Windows, open the download area from the user panel and obtain the client provided by this site. After installation, open the client, use the import entry provided by the panel to add the subscription, and update it. When the route list appears, choose a rule mode first, then select a route that is relatively close to your location and matches the use case. When connecting, security software may ask to allow the client to access the network. Check the application source and grant the required permission.

After connecting, check the client’s tray status and current route name, then open an IP-check page to verify the exit. If the browser works but a desktop application does not, check whether it uses a separate proxy, reads environment settings at launch or needs to be restarted before adopting the new system proxy. If Windows still shows a proxy problem after the client exits, restart the client and disconnect normally so the system proxy is restored instead of deleting the program directory.

macOS: Pay Attention to Network Extension Authorization

When macOS establishes its first connection, the system may ask you to approve a network extension or related configuration. After importing the client, choose a route and start the connection, then follow the system authorization prompt. If authorization was denied, the client may still display routes while the connection cannot actually be established. Open the system network and privacy settings, check the permissions for the client’s extension and return to the client to try again.

The menu-bar connection status is only a first-level indicator. Open IP Check to confirm the exit region and test your main applications. Some applications establish long-lived connections at launch and will not rebuild them immediately after a route change, so quit and reopen them. If a browser extension has its own proxy, temporarily disable the conflicting setting and complete the basic verification through the system-level connection.

iOS and Android: Handle System Authorization and Background Status

On iOS, open the download area through the user panel and obtain the appropriate client entry. Import the subscription, then allow the connection configuration when the system asks during the first connection. Choose a route, connect and check the system connection status and exit region. When switching routes, make the change in the client first. If the old session continues using the previous exit, disconnect, reconnect and reopen the target application.

Android follows a similar process: obtain the client from the panel, import the subscription, allow the system connection request, then choose a rule mode and route. If the system stops the connection when the application moves to the background, check battery management and background-running permissions and allow the client to maintain the required state while in use. Settings names vary by device manufacturer, so the practical test is whether the client stays connected when the screen locks, apps change or the network changes.

Linux: Verify Command-Line and Graphical Applications Separately

On Linux, first determine whether the client uses a graphical interface, a system proxy or a local service. Obtain the client and subscription entry from the user panel and choose a route after importing it. Graphical desktop applications usually read desktop proxy settings, while command-line tools may read environment variables or their own configuration, so testing only a browser is insufficient. After connecting, test the browser, package manager, version-control tools and the actual commands used for work separately.

To check whether the current terminal has proxy environment variables set, use the command below. It only reads the variables, contains no account details and does not change system configuration.

Empty output does not necessarily mean the client is disconnected: some clients handle traffic through the system network layer and do not rely on terminal variables. Conversely, existing output does not prove that the local service named by those variables is running. Check the client status, process status and exit result together. To obtain the client, always open the user-panel download area; do not look for a similarly named program on a non-VPNJN page.

CHAPTER F

Connection, Verification and Layered Troubleshooting

Verification should cover the client status, exit region and real applications—not just the connection button.

Make the First Connection

After the subscription update completes, start with a route relatively close to your current location. If the target service has a specific regional requirement, choose the corresponding exit region. For the first test, use rule mode so ordinary local requests keep their existing path while international requests covered by the rules use the route. Start the connection, wait for the client status to stabilize and then verify it in a new browser window. Do not switch through several routes while the connection is still being established; that creates an unclear intermediate state.

Route names commonly include a region, city or link type. IEPL, transit and direct routes describe different path structures; none is guaranteed to be better in every location or application. IEPL routes suit use cases that prioritize link stability. Transit routes adjust the path through an intermediate link. Direct routes have a more straightforward structure but are more affected by the local network and international exit conditions. Choose based on your network and actual use case.

Confirm the Connection with Three Layers

First check the client: the current configuration should be VPNJN, the subscription should be active, the selected route should match your expectation and the connection switch should be on. Second check the exit: open IP Check and confirm that the exit region matches the selected route. Third check the application: open the AI tool, collaboration platform, code service or streaming service you actually need and observe sign-in, page loading, long-lived connections and content region. The setup is complete only when all three layers agree.

Checking only the IP can miss an application-specific proxy, cached region data or an old session. If the browser has the correct exit but an application still behaves unexpectedly, quit it completely and restart it. If the application has its own network or proxy settings, make sure they do not override the system connection. Streaming services and some other platforms cache regional information, so reopen the page after changing routes and check the account-region settings. Avoid switching the same service between regions frequently; a stable exit is generally easier for maintaining a session.

Troubleshoot Connection Failures by Layer

If the client cannot start a connection, first check system authorization, the local network and the client process. If it connects but cannot reach any target service, check that the selected route is active, the subscription is updated, the system time is correct and another proxy tool has not overridden the rule mode. If only one application fails, focus on its own settings and cache. If only one route fails, switch to another route in the same region. If the entire region is unsuitable, see Global Routes for a nearby alternative.

Change one condition at a time while troubleshooting. Keep the client and network unchanged while switching the route; then keep the route unchanged while switching the network; only after that review the rule mode. Reinstalling the client, resetting the network, deleting the subscription and changing the route all at once makes the cause impossible to track. Record what changed and what happened to determine whether the issue is with the device, network, configuration or route.

Evaluating Long-Lived Connections, Meetings and AI Tools

A webpage loading only proves that basic requests can reach the destination; it does not prove that a long-lived connection is stable. Streaming output in AI coding tools, real-time audio and video in meeting software, and continuous sync in collaboration tools expose connection jitter more readily. Test with real workflows: let the AI tool produce sustained output, join an actual meeting to test audio and video, and watch whether the collaboration app keeps syncing. If short requests work but long-lived connections drop, try another route type in the same region instead of repeatedly refreshing the page.

Services such as Claude that are more sensitive to access region and session context should use a consistent region and stable exit whenever possible. The goal is not a static speed-test number, but whether the connection supports the real task: stable sign-in, persistent sessions, complete streamed content and successful file transfers.

CHAPTER G

Daily Maintenance, Data and Renewal Management

Reliable use depends on repeatable checks, not leaving the configuration untouched forever.

Update the Subscription and Client Regularly

When the route list changes, the client must retrieve the current content through a subscription update. If a commonly used route disappears, changes name or becomes unstable, update the subscription first and then decide whether to choose another route. Do not confuse “Update Subscription” with “Update Client”: the former synchronizes route configuration, while the latter updates the program itself. The client entry is always available in the user panel. Before upgrading, confirm that the current configuration can be imported again from the panel.

If the client is stable, there is no need to delete and reinstall it frequently. The maintenance order should be to check account status, update the subscription, switch routes and confirm system permissions; only then consider reimporting or reinstalling. Before deleting the client, make sure you have saved the username and password and can access the user panel again. A real subscription does not need to be stored in a public document because the active account is itself the route for retrieving it again.

Check Data Usage and the Reset Cycle

When checking usage, consider remaining data together with the current stage before the next reset. The price difference for a mid-cycle upgrade is prorated into the remaining days. Before upgrading, decide whether the higher demand is ongoing. If you regularly handle more video, sync or large-file tasks, changing the monthly tier better matches the usage pattern. If the increase is temporary, compare a data pack. After upgrading, do not judge activation by route names; use the plan status and data information in the user panel. The route list reflects connection resources, not the full order relationship.

Keeping Configurations Consistent Across Devices

Unlimited devices support multi-device use, but rule modes, route choices and subscription-update times may differ between devices. Use consistent configuration names and record each device’s main purpose. For example, a work computer might use rule mode with a fixed region, a mobile device might switch based on the travel network, and Linux might require separate command-line testing. Matching names do not synchronize settings, so check each device after changing an important rule.

If a device will not be used for a long time, disconnect it and exit the client to reduce background updates and data usage. When re-enabling it, update the subscription first and then choose a route. Before handing over or retiring a device, remove the local subscription and client account state. Do not copy a configuration directory containing subscription information to someone else or place the entire client data directory in a shared sync drive. Keep a Short but Useful Maintenance Record

A maintenance record can contain only the activation date, plan type, main devices, usual regions, latest subscription update and confirmed application settings. Do not record the password or real subscription address. When the issue returns, compare recent changes first: system updates, network changes, rule edits or a different route region. This turns an intermittent problem into a set of reproducible conditions.

If routine checks do not solve the issue, open the ticket area from the user panel. Describe the symptoms and steps rather than only stating the conclusion. For example: “The Windows client updates the subscription successfully. After selecting a Hong Kong route, the browser shows the correct exit, but a desktop collaboration app keeps its old session; restarting the app resolves it.” This makes clear that the issue is no longer at the account or route layer. Do not include passwords, payment credentials or the full subscription.

Routing Rules, Fixed Exits and Advanced Use

Once the basic connection is stable, refine rules according to the application and region.

How Rule Mode and Global Mode Work Together

Rule mode decides whether requests use the route according to the domain, application or network target, making it suitable for daily use. Local services can keep their existing path while applications that need international connectivity use the selected route. Global mode sends more requests through the current route, which is useful for determining whether a problem comes from a missed rule or for short tasks that explicitly require a uniform exit. After troubleshooting, restore more precise rules for the actual use case.

Do not judge whether a rule matched by looking only at the client’s connection switch. Also observe the target application’s exit, access result and client records. If an application fails in rule mode but works in global mode, the route itself is probably usable; the issue is more likely rule detection or the application’s own network settings. Add a rule for the relevant domain or application instead of using global mode indefinitely to hide the configuration gap.

Keep Exit Regions Consistent by Use Case

AI tools, collaboration platforms and content services may maintain sessions based on the exit region. For ongoing use, choose a region that meets the target service’s requirements and provides a stable connection, then keep it consistent where possible. A fixed exit does not mean never changing routes; it means avoiding unnecessary cross-region jumps during one task cycle. If the current route is under maintenance, try another route in the same region before moving to a nearby region. This makes account sessions and content regions easier to keep consistent.

When choosing a region, check the target service’s regional requirements first, then consider the path from your current location to the exit region. A shorter distance often reduces path complexity, but it is not the only factor. IEPL, transit and direct routes can behave differently across networks. Create Dedicated Rules for AI Coding and Remote Collaboration

Cursor, Copilot and command-line AI tools may use sign-in pages, API requests, streaming connections and code repositories at the same time. A rule for only the main site domain may miss authentication or asset domains. In rule mode, complete sign-in and a real conversation first, then test sustained streaming output and project actions. If sign-in works but output stops, try another route in the same region and check whether the command-line environment still points to an old proxy.

Remote meetings and collaboration tools have different priorities. Meeting software is more sensitive to continuous audio/video and network changes, while document collaboration depends more on stable sessions and background sync. Fix the route before a meeting and avoid changing regions during the call. After switching from wired to wireless, confirm that the client has re-established its connection. Command-Line Tools and Independent Proxy Environments

Command-line tools on Linux, macOS and Windows may read environment variables, follow the system proxy or use application-specific settings. If the graphical client connects successfully but the command line cannot reach the target service, first check when the terminal was opened. An old terminal may retain the environment from before the connection. Open a new terminal, then check proxy variables and the actual exit. Do not put the real subscription address in shell configuration. The client manages the subscription; command-line tools usually only need to point to the local proxy entry provided by the client.

The example below shows temporary environment-variable syntax. The address only represents the kind of local entry a client might provide; use the value shown in the client interface. Closing the current terminal does not write temporary variables into long-term configuration.

If the client uses the system network layer rather than a local proxy entry, these variables are unnecessary. Do not add environment variables blindly when you do not know how the client works; you may create a double proxy or send requests to a nonexistent local port. Use the client documentation, user-panel instructions and actual exit verification as your evidence. To remove temporary settings, close and reopen the terminal or unset the corresponding variables in the current session.

Build a Recoverable Configuration Strategy

The most important quality of advanced configuration is recoverability, not the number of rules. Before each change, record the working mode, route region and affected applications; afterward, test only the relevant tasks. If a rule fails, return to the basic rule mode to confirm that the route works, then restore custom settings one by one. Do not commit the entire client configuration directory to a code repository because it may contain the subscription and local account data.

When reusing rules across devices, migrate only rule text without credentials and import the subscription again from the user panel on each device. Rules describe traffic matching; subscriptions deliver routes, so keep them separate. In examples, documentation and automation scripts, use an obvious dummy value such as https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN. Keep the real subscription only in the client and controlled panel workflow.
